I am South African by birth, and European by ancestry.
An early love of travelling, exploring different countries and cultures led me to pursue a career in the travel industry for several years. This wanderlust motivated me to move to Munich, Germany in 2001, where I lived for almost 4 years.
The yearn for Africa, it’s people, it’s wildlife and landscapes was too big to ignore and at the end of 2004 I returned to the country of my birth where I currently live in Johannesburg.
During the week I work as a bean counter and people manager in the business I co-own with my husband, who I'm thankfully still happily married to even after working together for so many years.
On weekends, as family time allows, I devote time to my freelance career in proofreading and copy editing.
I'm a mother of 2 clever, spunky girls that keep me on my toes, and who always remind me to add more fun and joy into our lives. Birthdays are always big celebrations in our house and baking cookies together is one of our favourite pastimes.
My interests are varied (from spirituality and personal development, genealogy and history to politics and current affairs).
Being able to regularly spend time in the African Bush is a tremendous privilege I get to enjoy... I love our African wildlife and support numerous organisations that are focused on wildlife conservation. I'm a big advocate of living more sustainably, and financial education - especially for women!
