For years this quote has been on the wall in my home office. And yet I've only recently realised how the humble dandelion has become a recurring theme in my life. 

I've always had a strong affinity with dandelions, and as a child I loved picking them and blowing them, watching their seeds scatter with the wind. Now I have the pleasure of watching my children do the same whenever we come across a dandelion on our walks.

To some, dandelions are a weed and considered an irritating nuisance, needing to be regularly removed. To others, they are pretty when blooming, but unsightly once they turn into bare stalks after having sown their seeds. And yet others merely enjoy the fun of blowing their seeds from the flowerhead and don't give them a second thought thereafter.

And yet there is so much more to this plant than meets the eye! We should take the time to have a second look. This small, unpretentious plant packs a punch in so many, many ways! More on that in another blog post.

For me personally, dandelions are an ever-present symbol of tenacity and staying-power, of unassuming beauty, of living life fully irrespective of what comes your way, and remembering that every end is equally the beginning of something new. 

Dandelions and dandelion shapes (as well as heart shapes) appear in my life recurringly and regularly - sometimes when I least expect it and sometimes when I am actively asking for a sign or guidance. Every time it happens, it feels like the most miraculous thing! It reminds and reassures me that, no matter where I am when I see my dandelion (or heart) shape, that I am on the right path, in the right place or with the right people. Wishes and dreams can come true, and we can do miraculous things with our lives - if only we are willing to believe!
